Online casinos from West Virginia get record revenue in February

BetMGM Casino and FanDuel Casino registered $6.4m in revenue.

The state’s online casinos recorded $12.4m in revenue.

In February, West Virginia’s online casinos set a new record with $12.4m in revenue, up 55% from the same period last year.

BetMGM and FanDuel accounted for $6.4m in revenue, or 51.6% of the total, while the state’s five physical sportsbooks recorded a loss of over half a million dollars on $4.3m in bets.

This marks the fifth straight month that the state’s online casinos have generated at least $10m in revenue.

The West Virginia Senate recently approved Senate Bill 62, which would allow racetrack casinos in Kanawha, Ohio, Hancock, and Jefferson counties to establish satellite locations.

The bill passed by a vote of 25 to 8 and now moves to the House of Delegates. If approved, interested racetrack casino owners would need to receive approval from their county commissions and hold a countywide referendum.
