Who is responsible
Gamingo News is responsible for the personal data described here. For any question about your data or to exercise your rights, write to media@gamingo.news.
What we collect
- Reading the site. Our web server records technical data for every request (IP address, browser, page, time) to keep the site running and secure. These logs are kept for up to 30 days.
- Audience measurement. We count visits with Matomo, configured without cookies, and with Google Analytics 4, which sets analytics cookies (_ga) to distinguish visitors and sessions. Google receives page-view and device data for our aggregate statistics; advertising features are off. We do not ourselves store this data or link it to your identity.
- Notifications. If you click “Notify me” and allow notifications in your browser, we store the push address your browser gives us (an encrypted endpoint at Google, Mozilla, Microsoft or Apple, depending on your browser), its encryption keys and the date, on our own server, to send you a notification when we publish a new story (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). We do not use a third-party notification service and do not link the subscription to your name or email. You can turn notifications off at any time with the Notifications link in the footer or in your browser settings; the subscription is then deleted, and subscriptions the push service reports as expired are deleted automatically.
- Emails. If you write to us, we keep your message and address to reply and, for press releases, to follow up on the story.
Legal bases
Server logs and audience measurement (Matomo and Google Analytics) rely on our legitimate interest in running, securing and understanding the use of the site (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)); you can object at any time by writing to us (art. 21). Correspondence is handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering you.
Who receives data
Our hosting provider, Google (Analytics) and the provider that runs our Matomo instance. Google may process data outside the European Economic Area under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restrict or object to its use, and receive it in a portable format. Write to media@gamingo.news. You can also complain to your national data protection authority; in Romania this is ANSPDCP (dataprotection.ro).
