Attention Swedish online gaming community! Interest has been spiked as Spelinspektionen, Sweden’s vigilant gambling regulator, asserts its authority by banning two unlicensed operators.

Desire for a secure and fair gaming environment is being reinforced as these actions target companies circumventing local laws.

As a result, Swedish gamers are urged to remain within the bounds of licensed gaming activities for their protection and to adhere to the country’s gambling regulations.

Swedish Gambling Authority Enforces Ban on Curaçao-Based Gaming Entities

In a firm stand for regulated gaming, Sweden’s Spelinspektionen has declared a definitive ban against two unlicensed operators, Moonrail Limited and Perfect Storm, which have been illegally targeting Swedish patrons. Registered in Curaçao, these entities have found themselves in contravention of chapter 3, section 3 of the stringent Swedish Gambling Act.

The probe into Perfect Storm unveiled its ties to csgo500.com, while Moonrail was connected to csgoempire.com, with both sites providing gaming services to Swedish customers without proper authorization. Key indicators of their targeted activities included offering services in Swedish krona, facilitating Swedish-specific payment solutions, and featuring the Swedish language in their terms and conditions as well as in affiliate marketing content.

Spelinspektionen has delineated clear criteria for compliance, emphasizing that if Swedish consumers are prohibited from registering or creating accounts on gaming websites, such sites are not deemed to be serving the Swedish market and thus fall outside the scope of the Swedish Gambling Act. In these specific cases, however, the Curaçao-registered operators failed to halt access for Swedish users and neglected to engage with the regulator’s inquiries.

This recent enforcement comes on the heels of a substantial fine imposed on Malta-based Videoslots, underscoring Spelinspektionen’s unwavering commitment to upholding anti-money laundering (AML) standards and preventing the financing of terrorism. The regulator scrutinized Videoslots’ customer interaction protocols and identified grave lapses in the operator’s efforts to reconcile customers’ income with their transaction activities.

Spelinspektionen’s latest actions serve as a resolute reminder of the importance of adhering to national gambling laws and regulations, ensuring a secure and regulated environment for Swedish gamblers and maintaining the integrity of the nation’s gaming industry.
