Red Ridge Marketing has been fined €675,000 by the Dutch gambling regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), for advertising illegal online gambling despite being previously ordered to stop by the regulator. The company operated four websites promoting unlicensed gambling operators, leading to the fine.

Red Ridge Marketing was fined €675,000 by the Dutch gambling regulator, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), for advertising illegal online gambling through its websites, including Casinojager.com, Casinovergelijker.net, Internetcasino-online.com, and Nederlandseonlinecasino.com. The KSA found that the sites promoted gambling operators that did not hold Dutch licences. It was also noted that Casinojager.com alone had 296,408 visitors from the Netherlands between May 2021 and May 2022.

The regulator said that promotional text on the sites included “careless and misleading statements” and could “encourage immoderate participation by promoting unlimited play and wagering”. They also included negative statements about the national self-exclusion service, Cruks.

According to the Dutch gambling regulator KSA, one of the websites operated by Red Ridge Marketing, Casinojager.com, included an article in the “news” section titled “Casino Without Licence.” The article made misleading statements that could encourage excessive gambling by promoting unlimited play and wagering. It also made negative statements about the national self-exclusion service, Cruks. The article claimed that playing at illegal online casinos had advantages and more freedom, with less strict conditions regarding bonuses.

KSA chairman René Jansen said: “Promoters of illegal games of chance providers also receive our attention. They must also comply with the law, especially when it comes to protecting young adults. We will do everything we can to stop these practices.”
