São Paulo FC, one of Brazil’s iconic football clubs, made headlines as it officially revealed Superbet as its primary sponsor for the next three years. The grand unveiling took place during an event on January 18th, solidifying a groundbreaking partnership worth a staggering $32 million.
The anticipation surrounding São Paulo’s collaboration with Superbet had been building for some time. Hints were dropped by the club’s president, Julio Casares, on social media, suggesting a remarkable year ahead for the sports betting platform.
The official announcement caught many by surprise as São Paulo FC signed a lucrative three-year contract, valued at R$ 156 million (approximately US$ 32 million), securing Superbet as its main sponsor. This strategic move saw Superbet stepping into the space previously occupied by Sportsbet.io.
Although the termination of the previous betting platform contract incurred a cost of R$ 24 million (about US$ 5 million), neither the São Paulo board nor Superbet disclosed the party responsible for the penalty.
The unveiling event on January 18th was nothing short of spectacular. A grand parade showcasing the new uniforms, produced by New Balance and adorned with the Superbet logo, marked the kickoff for São Paulo’s 2024 season. Esteemed club athletes proudly sported the fresh jerseys, adding an air of excitement to the evening.
The event was not only about the new sponsor but also about new beginnings for São Paulo FC in 2024. The club introduced its latest signings, including Ferreira, Erick, Luiz Gustavo, and Bobadilla, all set to make an impact in the upcoming season.
Superbet, originating from Romania and active in the online market since 2016, arrived in Brazil last year. Beyond football, this dynamic betting platform covers a wide array of sports, including tennis, volleyball, baseball, and futsal. Their reach extends to various competitions worldwide, offering diverse sports betting opportunities.
Alexandre Fonseca, CEO of Superbet Brasil, emphasized the company’s ambitious goal, stating, “We arrive in Brazil to achieve market leadership as quickly as possible. If it weren’t for that, I wouldn’t have taken on this project.” Superbet’s swift rise in Brazil reflects their commitment to dominating the sports betting landscape in the country.
