World Aquatics has partnered with Sportradar to enhance the integrity and security of water polo competitions
As per the two-year agreement, Sportradar will monitor over 450 water polo matches organized by World Aquatics to ensure integrity and security in the competitions.
Sportradar Integrity Services, a global leader in providing sport integrity solutions, has partnered with World Aquatics in a two-year agreement to monitor international water polo matches.
Over 450 matches, including the Men’s and Women’s Water Polo Tournaments at the World Aquatics Championships, the Men’s and Women’s U20 Championships, and the Men’s and Women’s Water Polo World Cups, will be monitored under this agreement. Sportradar will utilize its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS), an AI-driven bet monitoring system, which has successfully identified over 8,000 suspicious matches in other sports over the past 18 years.
Brent J. Nowicki, Executive Director of World Aquatics, expressed the organization’s commitment to protecting their competitions from integrity threats, especially with the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He highlighted the expertise and knowledge that Sportradar Integrity Services brings to the table through their UFDS platform and expert team.
Andreas Krannich, EVP Integrity Services at Sportradar, emphasized that match-fixing can affect various sports at different levels of competition, including youth events, and aquatic sports are not immune to such threats. Sportradar is determined to provide robust integrity provisions and utilize their technology to safeguard World Aquatics water polo competitions during the two-year partnership.
