Caesars Launches Horseshoe Online Casino in Pennsylvania
Caesars Entertainment continues to expand its online gaming presence with the recent launch of the Horseshoe Online Casino in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. With New Jersey and Ontario expected to join by year’s end, Caesars is positioning the Horseshoe brand as a competitive force in key online casino markets across North America.
Caesars Expands Horseshoe Online Casino to Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Prepares New Jersey Launch
After a successful debut in Michigan on October 3, Caesars has rapidly extended the Horseshoe brand to Pennsylvania and West Virginia, further solidifying its online casino reach. By the end of 2024, Horseshoe Online Casino will be available in all U.S. online casino markets where Caesars operates.
Matt Sunderland, Caesars Digital’s Senior Vice President and Chief iGaming Officer, shared the company’s commitment to the brand: “The Horseshoe brand is anchored by a promise to put the player first. A brand with such a storied past deserves an online equivalent that pays respect to the legacy it has established in gaming, and that is what we’ve created with Horseshoe Online Casino.”
Key Points:
- Launch in Pennsylvania: The state’s 23rd online casino, enhancing options for players.
- West Virginia Expansion: Expanding the state’s market to ten online casino operators.
- Upcoming New Jersey and Ontario Launches: Horseshoe Online Casino is slated to go live in these markets by year’s end.
Pennsylvania and West Virginia Markets Welcome Horseshoe
With Pennsylvania already hosting top-tier online casinos like Tropicana and Caesars Palace, Horseshoe Online Casino enters a competitive field as the 23rd online casino in the state. Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) allows operators to launch multiple brands, giving Caesars room to diversify its offerings with licenses through Harrah’s Philadelphia.
In West Virginia, the Horseshoe launch grows the market to ten active operators, joining the likes of DraftKingsCasino, BetMGM, and FanDuelCasino. Players in these states can now enjoy exclusive Horseshoe features, such as:
- 700+ Slots: Popular titles like Capital Gains, Divine Fortune, and Buffalo Thunder.
- Live Dealer Rooms: Featuring blackjack, roulette, and craps, plus fan favorites like Super Sic Bo and Crazy Time.
- Seamless Integration: Caesars customers can log in with existing credentials, enabling a smooth transition to the new platform.
Competitive Landscape and Market Performance
Despite Horseshoe’s entrance, Caesars has expressed measured expectations for its market impact. Eric Hession, Caesars Digital President, acknowledged in a Q2 earnings report that the flagship Caesars Palace Online Casino has a stronger market position. He noted, “Horseshoe is a great brand, and we feel like it’s going to resonate with a lot of customers. But Caesars is even a better brand… it’s going to be the flagship app that we have.”
The iGaming market has proved lucrative for Caesars. In Q3 2024, Caesars Digital reported $303 million in revenue, a significant increase from $215 million in the previous year, driven largely by its iGaming growth.
The Horseshoe Online Casino rollout demonstrates Caesars’ ambitious growth strategy in North America’s iGaming sector. With the brand now live in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, and New Jersey expected soon, Caesars is capitalizing on Horseshoe’s legacy and expanding its digital portfolio. As more states open to online casinos, Caesars’ diversified approach could further strengthen its position as a leading online casino operator in the U.S.
