Necochea Mayor and Authorities Discuss Future of Local Casino
Strategic Dialogues for Necochea Casino’s Future
In Necochea, a coastal city in Argentina, Mayor Arturo Rojas and Buenos Aires Minister of Government, Carlos Bianco, held a critical meeting to discuss the future of the city’s casino. This meeting underscores the municipal and provincial governments’ joint efforts in shaping the future of Necochea’s gaming house.
Exploring Options for Casino Management
The primary focus of the meeting was the potential privatization of the Necochea Casino. With a vision to transform the establishment into a thriving attraction, Mayor Rojas reiterated his commitment to inviting private investors to rejuvenate the casino. This move seeks to alleviate the financial burden on the municipality, which currently struggles to bear the maintenance costs of the casino complex.
Debating Key Issues and Potential Investments
The dialogue encompassed various critical topics, including the casino’s tender, unfinished works, and the uncertain economic climate. The participants also discussed the Educational Financing Fund, enhancing port operations, and attracting investments to boost employment and benefit local producers.
Towards a New Era for Necochea’s Casino
Mayor Rojas emphasized the unchanged political decision from 2020: finding local investors to refurbish and develop the casino complex using private funding. This plan includes selling the land and the casino complex, possibly incorporating the former spa operated by the Argentine Automobile Club (ACA), known as Costa Dorada.
Preparing for Alternate Plans and Valuations
Acknowledging the need for flexibility, the mayor mentioned a Plan B should the initial sale proposal face challenges. Prior to advocating for the complex’s sale, a valuation of approximately USD 9 million was conducted through professional associations.
Engaging Potential Investors
Casinos Victoria, a notable player in the gaming industry, previously expressed interest in operating the Necochea Casino. Last year, representatives from the company visited Necochea, touring the casino to assess its potential for their involvement in the upcoming provincial tender for installing slot machines at this iconic location.
A Collaborative Vision for Necochea’s Gaming Future
The meeting between Mayor Rojas and Minister Bianco reflects a collaborative approach to enhancing Necochea’s casino, aiming to revitalize the local economy and position the city as a notable gaming destination in the region.
