In a move that underscores Brazil’s potential as a gaming market, 134 companies have expressed interest in operating sports betting and online games.

Ministry of Finance’s Regulatory Ordinance

The Ministry of Finance, through Regulatory Ordinance MF No. 1330/2023, invited companies to submit a non-binding expression of interest. The deadline for submissions was 30 days.

Enthusiastic Response from Global Companies

The response was overwhelming, with 134 companies providing the necessary documentation to showcase their interest in Brazil’s gaming market.

Priority for Early Expressions of Interest

Companies that acted early and submitted their expressions of interest will be given priority in the authorization application process, as per the Ministry’s regulations.

A Wait-and-See Approach from Some Companies

Several companies opted to wait for the final law approval by Congress, particularly concerning the inclusion of online casinos, before deciding to apply for a license.
