Bally’s Chicago secures permanent gaming license, paving the way for exciting expansion
Bally’s Chicago is gearing up for a significant development, with a permanent venue set to open in late 2025 or early 2026. The Illinois Gaming Board’s decision to convert Bally’s temporary operating permit into a full casino license marks a pivotal moment in the company’s ambitious $1.7 billion gaming project in Chicago.
Additionally, the IGB’s approval extends Bally’s lease at Medinah Temple for an extra year. This extension ensures that Medinah Temple will remain a temporary casino until 2026, providing Bally’s with an additional year to complete its permanent gaming destination in River West.
Last month, Bally’s introduced its temporary casino, featuring 750 slot machines and 50 table games. The forthcoming permanent Bally’s Chicago, located at the 30-acre Chicago Tribune Publishing Center at the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street, promises to be a gaming paradise with 3,400 slots, 170 table games, and a diverse array of 10 food and beverage establishments. The resort will also include a 500-room hotel tower with a rooftop bar and a sprawling 65,000-square-foot entertainment center. Get ready for an exciting new era of gaming in Chicago!
