Wazdan has made its Finnish debut through a partnership with Veikkaus, announced on 4 November 2026, about eight months before most of Finland's new Gambling Act takes effect on 1 July 2027.

The slot supplier's games reach Finnish players through the aggregation platform of Light & Wonder, which already carries other third-party content for Veikkaus Oy, the Finnish gambling operator. Three titles launch first, and seven more are planned.

What Wazdan and Veikkaus announced

The deal puts Wazdan content on Veikkaus's casino offering via Light & Wonder's platform. According to EEGaming and iGaming Future, the opening lineup is:

  • Hot Slot: 777 Platinum Crown
  • Hot Slot: 777 Gold Crown
  • Mighty Hot: 777

The following titles are due to be added: Sizzling 777 Deluxe, Mighty Crown: Legacy of Mars, Magic Fruits Deluxe, Hot Slot: 777 Cash Out, Magic Fruits 4 Deluxe, Hot Slot: 777 Coins and Valhalla.

Bekki D'Agata, Commercial Director at Wazdan, called Finland "an important market" for the supplier, according to the trade reports. Riikka Seppänen, VP iCasino, welcomed Wazdan to the Finnish market, according to EEGaming. No commercial terms or go-live date have been disclosed.

Wazdan has made similar single-market entries before, including its partnership with Totogaming in Romania in 2024.

Where the deal sits in Finland's reform timeline

The agreement operates inside the current Veikkaus monopoly, which runs until 30 June 2027 under the supervision of the National Police Board. The Finnish Government said that in its session on 15 January it proposed that the President approve the Gambling Act on 16 January 2026. The Gambling Act reorganizes the market, and most of its provisions take effect on 1 July 2027.

Under the act, betting, online slots and casino, and online money bingo move to a licensing system. Veikkaus keeps the monopoly on lottery-type games, scratch cards, and physical slot machines and casino games. A Veikkaus Group company may apply for a licence in the competitive market.

The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA), an industry lobby group, said 95% of Finnish parliamentarians voted in favor and that President Alexander Stubb approved the legislation. It described Finland as the last EU country to adopt multi-licensing for online gambling. Earlier Gamingo analysis looked at whether Veikkaus can compete in a liberalized market.

Veikkaus keeps adding outside content

Wazdan is not the first outside supplier to arrive via Veikkaus this year. 1X2 Network entered Finland through Veikkaus and Light & Wonder in mid-May 2026 with 10 titles, according to iGaming Future and Gaming Intelligence.

The operator's supplier list also includes names covered in earlier Gamingo reports. Greentube expanded its European presence with Veikkaus in October 2024, and Playtech launched live casino in Finland with Veikkaus that December. Veikkaus is also preparing a consumer brand outside Finland, as covered in our report on Viabet with Viaplay.

What suppliers should track

The 1 July 2028 software rule is the main structural change for studios. From that date, licensed operators must source software from a holder of a gambling software licence, and the Finnish Supervisory Agency will issue those licences from 1 July 2027. Suppliers planning Finnish distribution beyond the Veikkaus channel should follow the agency's guidance as it appears.

Status reviewed on 4 November 2026. Deal details come from trade reports of the partnership announcement, and legal dates come from the Finnish Government. More business news and EMEA coverage.
