Soft2Bet acquires two seven-year licenses to further enhance its market presence and pursue expansion opportunities in Greece.

Soft2Bet had a productive month in May, receiving various accolades, awards, and nominations in recognition of its software solutions. As the month began, Soft2Bet proudly announced the acquisition of a Business-to-Business license for Sweden, complementing its existing Business-to-Consumer license.

Soft2Bet has recently revealed that it has obtained a significant betting and gaming license for the Greek market, just two weeks after its previous announcement. The Gaming Supervision and Control Commission of the Hellenic Gaming Commission has awarded Soft2Bet the coveted licenses for both casino games and betting events in Greece, each valid for a duration of seven years.

Soft2Bet Enters Revitalized Greek Gaming Market

Since 2021, the gaming industry in Greece has witnessed remarkable transformations, rejuvenating itself and welcoming new operators such as Gaming Corps, Spinome, Relax Gaming, and Slotegrator. In March of this year, Gaming Corps joined forces with Betshop to extend its reach in the Greek market, following in the footsteps of Soft2Bet and other gaming providers who have ventured into this territory.

Now, Soft2Bet is poised to make its grand entrance into the Greek market, showcasing its cutting-edge products. The group’s general counsel, David Yatom, expressed great enthusiasm about the new license, describing it as a significant leap forward for the company. Yatom emphasized that the newly acquired remote licenses for casino gaming and sports betting serve as a springboard for further expansion into regulated markets across Europe and beyond.

Yatom also emphasized that this recent licensing success represents a crucial step in the right direction for Soft2Bet. The company already holds licenses in Spain, Ireland, and Denmark, with the latter being obtained earlier this year.

David Yatom, Group General Counsel at Soft2Bet, expressed,

“The issuance of our remote gaming licenses for betting events and casino games in Greece is a significant milestone for Soft2Bet. We see this as a launchpad for further growth and eagerly anticipate pursuing additional licensing opportunities in the near future. Soft2Bet remains dedicated to expanding our operations and delivering an exceptional gaming experience to even more markets worldwide. This underlines our commitment to expand into regulated markets across Europe and beyond. It is another important step in the right direction for Soft2Bet.”

Soft2Bet’s Keen Interest in the Greek Market

Expressing their enthusiasm, Soft2Bet emphasized their excitement about entering the Greek market, which has held a special appeal for the provider and operator group since 2021.

A year ago, the Greek government made significant changes by raising the €2 ($2.14) limit on online wagers and increasing the maximum value of slot jackpots.

Soft2Bet considers the newly acquired certifications as a testament to the diligent efforts of their legal and compliance departments in ensuring full compliance with various regulatory requirements.

The Hellenic Gaming Commission, while granting licenses to trusted brands, is also actively promoting a safe gaming environment for domestic players. As part of these efforts, they have introduced an anonymous tip line for reporting illegal gambling websites and unauthorized forms of advertising.

These developments demonstrate Greece’s commitment to acknowledging, exposing, and preventing the risks and harms associated with the illicit gambling market.
