PAGCOR has successfully achieved recertification to ISO 9001:2015 standards for the third consecutive time
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has been awarded recertification to the International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9001:2015 for the third consecutive time. This achievement comes after PAGCOR successfully completed a rigorous three-day audit conducted by DQS Certification Phil’s Inc. from December 19 to 22, 2022, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining high standards of quality management.
PAGCOR has been granted recertification until March 21, 2026, subject to satisfactory surveillance audits. The reaccreditation certificate was presented to PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco, along with the members of the Board, at an awarding ceremony held at the New Coast Hotel Manila on April 12, 2023.
The DQS audit report highlighted that PAGCOR has effectively met the requirements for quality management system and risk-based thinking in its business operations, and has implemented and maintained a management system in accordance with the applicable standards.
“PAGCOR effectively fulfilled the requirements for quality management system and risk-based thinking in its business operations. It also implemented and maintained a management system in accordance with the applied standards.”
In his speech, Tengco expressed his appreciation for the hard work and cooperation of every PAGCOR employee in achieving the recertification. He emphasised that this achievement is a testament to the proper implementation of various systems and management practices within the organisation. Tengco took the opportunity to express his gratitude to each and every PAGCORian, acknowledging that without their dedication, the ISO certification would not have been possible.
Furthermore, Tengco reiterated his commitment as the head of the agency to ensure that PAGCOR, including all its gaming venues, will be certified to ISO 9001:2015 standards before his term comes to an end. He vowed to do his best in upholding the highest standards of quality management throughout the organisation.
“That is our goal and I commit as your Chairman and CEO that we will make sure that this will happen. Let’s work, unite and make sure we get ISO certification for the whole organisation…” the PAGCOR chief said.
DQS Managing Director Romeo Zamora also extended his gratitude to the state-run gaming firm for the opportunity to evaluate PAGCOR’s gaming operations, casino licensing and regulation, and Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. He expressed his appreciation for PAGCOR’s choice in entrusting their certification to DQS.
Zamora further conveyed his hope that DQS can continue to provide PAGCOR with value-added assessments in terms of their management system. He acknowledged the importance of ongoing evaluations to ensure the organisations continued adherence to high-quality standards.
“Thank you for choosing DQS for entrusting this certification to us. Hopefully, we can still continue to give you added value assessments when it comes to your management system.”
PAGCOR has successfully obtained ISO 9001:2015 recertification for its Corporate Offices located in Ermita, Malate, and Pasay. Additionally, the Casino Filipino (CF) branches in Tagaytay, Angeles, Citystate, and New Coast have also been recertified. Moreover, the CF branches in Ilocos Norte and Cebu have been newly certified as PAGCOR sites, demonstrating their commitment to quality management systems and adherence to ISO standards.
