Global Gambling Regulation Strengthened by GREF-NAGRA Partnership
Transatlantic Collaboration: GREF and NAGRA Join Forces for Enhanced Gambling Regulation
In a significant move to bolster global gambling regulation, the Gambling Regulators European Forum (GREF) and the North America Gaming Regulators Association (NAGRA) have forged a groundbreaking partnership. This alliance symbolizes a unified effort to strengthen ties and exchange regulatory expertise between gambling authorities across Europe and North America.
Under this collaborative agreement, GREF and NAGRA are set to deepen their interactions, sharing valuable insights and information on regulatory practices. This partnership unites around 100 regulatory bodies from both continents, marking a major step in coordinated efforts to navigate the complex landscape of gambling regulation.
Key aspects of this partnership include joint meetings of relevant interest groups and mutual support for each other’s annual conferences. Additionally, GREF and NAGRA plan to host joint seminars focusing on emerging regulatory risks, providing a platform for members to discuss and address these challenges collaboratively.
Isabelle Falque-Pierrotin, Chair of the French regulatory body Autorité Nationale des Jeux (ANJ) and GREF Chair, emphasizes the importance of such collaborations. In an era where public concerns about the risks associated with excessive gambling are rising, along with the expansion of gambling markets and technological innovations, international exchange among regulators is increasingly vital.
Falque-Pierrotin asserts that regulators in GREF and NAGRA face similar challenges, and this partnership is expected to enhance consumer protection efforts across the board.
Echoing these sentiments, NAGRA President Ryan Winfield, from the Arizona Department of Gaming, highlighted the benefits of this partnership for global communities. As the gambling industry continues to evolve rapidly, Winfield notes the importance of reaching out to other organizations in the industry to stay informed and effectively serve communities worldwide.
NAGRA’s membership comprises various government agencies in North America, including federal, state, local, tribal, and provincial bodies primarily focused on regulating gambling.
Conversely, GREF connects gambling regulators across Europe, facilitating the exchange of views on a wide array of issues related to gambling regulation, supervision, and control of operators, as well as the industry at large.
This transatlantic partnership between GREF and NAGRA represents a commitment to enhancing global gambling regulation. By sharing knowledge and fostering communication, these organizations aim to address the evolving challenges of the gambling landscape, ultimately benefiting people and communities around the world.
