Colombia’s gambling regulator is expected to be led by Marco Emilio Hincapié

Coljuegos, the Colombia’s gambling regulator, is expected to be led by Marco Emilio Hincapié following the resignation of previous head, Roger Carrillo Ocampo. He will be the fourth president in three years.

Another change in leadership has taken place at Coljuegos, Colombia’s gambling regulator, due to political disagreements over the country’s healthcare system.

President Gustavo Petro has requested the resignation of the regulator’s president, Roger Carrillo Ocampo, leading to rumors that Marco Emilio Hincapié, secretary general of Colombia Humana party, will take up the position.

This would be the fourth leadership change for Colombian gambling since 2020, with Hincapié being a well-known progressive politician from Tolima and close to President Petro.

Ocampo, who took up the position in March, is an economist and member of the Conservative Party, who opposed the healthcare reforms. Petro has been accused of causing chaos by demanding resignations of bureaucrats from different political parties.
