Coljuegos’ Illegal Operations Control Management (COI) division successfully confiscated 112 illegal gaming machines in Colombia’s Córdoba and Valle del Cauca Departments.

Ramírez Payares, the Director of COI, affirmed that operations will persist throughout all regions of the country to achieve the organization’s objectives for the year.

“We will continue working, employing various strategies to meet and surpass the designated goals and indicators for 2023. At the current pace, we aim to achieve historic seizure figures,”

stated Payares.

The operations led by COI impacted several municipalities, including Lorica in the Córdoba department, as well as Roldanillo and Sevilla in Valle del Cauca. The COI collaborated with local police and court representatives during these operations.

During the investigations, it was discovered that the raided establishments had outstanding machine gaming taxes amounting to Col$1.79 billion ($400,000/£330,000/€380,000). Additionally, the unlicensed bingo operations owed $382.8 million in taxes.

The premises involved in conducting these unauthorized games of chance will be required to pay the total amount of $2.17 billion, which will be allocated to the Colombian health system.

“We urge all those who currently operate games of luck and chance illegally to abide by the regulatory guidelines. The objective of these operations is to promote legality,”

emphasized Payares.

Coljuegos will store and transport the confiscated machines until they are eventually destroyed.
