The KSA has appointed new chairs to its advisory committee

De Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the Dutch gambling regulator, has revealed the selection of two new independent chairpersons for its Objections Advisory Committee.

Adriane Koppe and Monique van Oers have been appointed as the new chairpersons of the Objections Advisory Committee of the Dutch gambling regulator, de Kansspelautoriteit (KSA). They will be taking over from JME Feije, whose term is set to expire this month. Both Koppe and van Oers will serve three-year terms in their respective roles.

Adriane Koppe is a lecturer specializing in constitutional and administrative law at The Hague University of Applied Sciences, while Monique van Oers currently holds the position of director of legal affairs at the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets.

The decision to split the chairmanship between two individuals was made due to the increasing number of sanction decisions and subsequent objection procedures handled by the committee, according to the KSA.

René Jansen, the chairman of KSA, expressed gratitude for the contributions of JME Feije and welcomed the appointment of the two new chairpersons, emphasizing their expertise and experience in conducting objection procedures.

In related news, the KSA recently issued warnings to two lottery operators, Postcode Loterij and VriendenLoterij, cautioning them that they may face fines of up to €1 million if they continue offering games that are not covered by their licenses. The operators have stated their intention to appeal the decision and will temporarily halt the provision of such games starting from June 8.

Additionally, in a separate incident last month, the KSA imposed a €45,000 fine on Merkur Casino for permitting a self-excluded player to enter its premises in the municipality of Almere.
